SIRE - FERRO
THE GREAT LATE BLACK PEARL
The black pearl Ferro, is a proven, top stallion. For many years he was the mainstay of the Dutch dressage team and sire of many Grand Prix dressage horses. Ferro (also known as Olympic Ferro) is a foundation sire whose influence is still felt long after his death in 2005 aged 18; in the 2016 Sire Rankings, he is 12th - ahead of numerous living sires. He was particularly valued for his exceptional temperament and outstanding use of the hindleg. His brilliant attitude to his work has been passed on to his offspring. He was not only a successful dressage stallion, but also scored well in the jumping sections of his performance test - with comments that he showed a good technique over a fence and a powerful gallop.
